8 May 2019 – A*STAR’s Singapore Institute of Manufacturing Technology (SIMTech) in collaboration with Singapore Precision Engineering and Technology Association (SPETA) have organized the PE COI Annual Conference 2019. The theme for this year’s conference is Beyond 10 Years Supporting the PE Industry – on Internationalisation to help PE companies understand the needs and challenges when undertaking international business operations. Akribis is invited as one of the three companies to share its internationalisation journeys and the needs to venture overseas.
During the event, Mr Leow (co-founder and managing director) received the award on behalf of the Company from Mr Edwin Chow (Assistant Chief Executive Officer from Enterprise Singapore) at the event held at Breakthrough and Discovery Theates @ Biopolis Matrix in Singapore.
This award is to recognise the achievement in internationalization. Akribis is an example of a Singapore home grown company that has ventured out of Singapore successfully. The company recognised the limitation of the Singapore market and started opening subsidiary offices in overseas countries such as United States, Germany, Japan, Korea, Taiwan, Thailand, Malaysia, Israel and China. Akribis started its China operations in Shanghai, in 2010. Since then, it has also opened up offices in Suzhou, Shenzhen, Beijing, Tianjin, Wuhan, Hangzhou and Guangzhou.
